Comments: This unusual “Peek Frean” biscuit tin was made by the Australian branch of the London company in Sydney by “S.T. Leigh & Co. Pty Ltd” around 1935.
The instructions on the tin say “Spin the inner container (where the biscuits were originally housed) by means of the projecting spindle and the horse stopping in front of the post is “The Winner’. The odds are indicated in the squares below the horse.”. it was obviously designed by a real gambler!
This biscuit tin is a tin within a tin, there are seven runners with odds varying from evens to 17/1, which makes for an interesting horse racing game.
